WHAT WE COLLECT:

When interacting with our Website and Services, we may collect two types of information from you: personal and non-personal information.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Examples of personal information that you may voluntarily provide to us include name, email address, mailing address, billing address, credit card information, phone number, customer preferences, or other information required during the sign-up process. Typically, this information will be provided to us when you choose to opt-in for a free download, participate in a survey, or purchase a product or service from the Website. We collect information about you during the signup process as well as some basic activities such as the dates you make purchases, login to the site, or cancel/pause/resume your subscriptions with us. If you choose to send us emails, any personal information you disclose will also be stored on our email server.

NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION

Examples of non-personal information include IP address, type of device Website was accessed on, city the website was accessed from, the type of browser used, the way you navigated our Website, and the content you viewed or interacted with. Non-personal information is only analyzed in an aggregate manner, and cannot be linked to any one individual. Non-personal information has no personal identifiers linked to it.

WHY WE COLLECT INFORMATION

Personal information may be used when presenting our Website and its contents to you, providing you with information, providing you with offers for products and services, providing you with information about your subscriptions and products, carrying out any contract between you and the Company, administering our business activities, providing customer service, and making available other items and services to our customers and prospective customers.

When you subscribe with us, we’ll ask you to provide an email address. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

— Send you information about your account and subscriptions. This may include payment receipts, password reset emails, and payment reminders.

— Create your membership account

All searches performed using the internal site search are logged in the database, including the following information: the search query, the number of hits found, user ID for users who are logged in and date and time.

From time-to-time, we may use the information you provide to us to make you offers to purchase products and services provided by third parties in exchange for a commission to be paid to us by such third parties. Should you opt to take part in such promotions, the third parties will receive your information.

Non-personal information may be analyzed in-house and shared with third-party advertisers who wish to advertise on our Website. This information helps advertisers understand our market reach, and can in no way be traced back to you individually. It also helps us improve our Website and continue to create content and offers that we believe you will enjoy.

HOW WE USE COOKIES

Similar to other commercial websites, our website utilizes a standard technology called “cookies” and server logs to collect information about how our site is used. Information gathered through cookies and server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our site, and the websites visited just before and just after our own, as well as your IP address.

A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a website, that site’s computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each website can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.

We use traffic log cookies in conjunction with Google Analytics to identify which pages are being visited on our Website. This helps us analyze data about what pages and posts are most and least popular so that we can create more of the content our readers really want. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes.

The Company reserves the right to use technological equivalents of cookies, including social media pixels. These pixels allow social media sites to track visitors to outside websites so as to tailor advertising messages users see while visiting that social media website. The Company reserves the right to use these pixels in compliance with the policies of the various social media sites.

A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of our Website.

This Website also uses Facebook pixels and cookies to understand who has visited our site, allow us to present relevant ads to those people on Facebook at a later date, and to track who saw our Facebook ads and then visited our site afterwards. This helps us understand which types of ads are connecting with people, and which ones aren’t, so we can improve our marketing efforts. We reserve the right to implement pixels from other social platforms in the future, as they become available.

Third Party Use Of Cookies

Some content or applications, including advertisements, on the Website are served by third-parties, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content providers, and application providers. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use our website. The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.

We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly.

ANALYTICS

This Website uses cookies through Google Analytics to determine what pages and posts are being viewed on the site, where traffic is coming from, bounce rate, time on site, etc. This data is anonymous and is used to improve the type of content we create and the user experience.

COMMENTS

When visitors leave comments on the Website, data is collected in the comments form. The visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string is also collected to help detect and block spam. Please be aware that any personal information posted in a public area of the site, such as the comment section, can be accessed freely by others, and we are not responsible for how third parties may access or use that information.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and Website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

EMAIL

If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received online, mail, and telephone. This also applies when you register for our website, sign up through any of our forms using your email address or make a purchase on this site.

We are committed to keeping your e-mail address confidential. We do not sell, rent, or lease our subscription lists to third parties, and will not disclose your email address to any third parties except as allowed in the section titled Disclosure of Your Information.

We will maintain the information you send via e-mail in accordance with applicable federal law.

In compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act, all e-mails sent from our organization will clearly state who the e-mail is from and provide clear information on how to contact the sender. In addition, all e-mail messages will also contain concise information on how to remove yourself from our mailing list so that you receive no further e-mail communication from us.

Our emails provide users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us and our partners by reading the unsubscribe instructions located at the bottom of any e-mail they receive from us at anytime.

Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional materials may opt-out of receiving these communications by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the e-mail.

Personal information (name, email address, IP address) provided when signing up for the newsletter or opt-in download or when making a purchase is stored by our email service provider (ConvertKit).

If you are within the European Union, UK, or Switzerland and have opted to receive any of our free or paid products, services, downloads, webinars, trainings, or live events, you will only be enrolled in our free email newsletter if you affirmatively request to be added.

If you would like your email address and personal information to be permanently deleted from the database, just send an email to support@functionalnutritionlibrary.com with your request.

MEDIA

If you upload images to the Website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the Website can download and extract any location data from images on the Website.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

ADVERTISING

Some of our advertisers occasionally serve you cookies as well. We do not have control over cookies placed by advertisers. We may use advertising service vendors to help present advertisements on the Website, one of which is Google Adsense. These vendors may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to serve you advertisements tailored to interests you have shown by browsing on this and other sites you have visited, to determine whether you have seen a particular advertisement before, and to avoid sending you duplicate advertisements. In doing so, these vendors may collect non-personal data, as described above. The use of cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies by these advertising service vendors is subject to their own privacy policy, not ours, and The Unconventional RD, LLC has no liability in connection to these services.

LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES, PRODUCTS, OR SERVICES

Our Website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES OR SERVICES

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

We may disclose your personal information to our subsidiaries, affiliates, and service providers for the purpose of providing our services to you.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Personal information will be stored until one of the following: 1) you request for your information to be deleted, 2) we discontinue our use of certain third-party tools that collect data, or 3) we decide that the value of the information storage no longer outweighs the costs.

WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If we make material changes to how we treat our users’ personal information, we will notify you by email to the email address specified in your account and/or through a notice on the Website. We will retain the any information you choose to provide to us until the earlier of: (a) you asking us to delete the information, (b) our decision to cease using our existing data providers, or (c) the Company decides that the value in retaining the data is outweighed by the costs of retaining it.

You have the right to seek restrictions on the processing of your data.

You have the right to object to the processing of your data and the right to the portability of your data.
